Halstead Town Council Accredited with Quality Gold Award
“I’m really pleased to announce that Halstead Town Council has been accredited with the Quality Gold level in the Local Council Award Scheme.
This is the highest level in the scheme that is managed nationally by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC). Currently there are only four other local councils in Essex that have achieved this level so this is particularly significant. This award follows successfully progressing through the earlier Foundation and Quality levels.
The Quality Gold Award demonstrates that a council is at the forefront of best practice and achieves excellence in governance, community leadership and council development.
A great deal of credit for achieving this award goes to our Town Clerk, Sarah Greatorex, who has been a driving force through this programme. She has successfully steered the council in the right direction and ensured we meet the criteria. Councillors and staff have all supported and contributed in achieving the level required.
This accreditation is regularly reviewed by NALC. It’s important to maintain the standard and continuously improve in the future, always remembering that “quality is a journey and not a destination”.
