Date Posted: 20th May 2025

Mayor Andrew Munday has been re-elected, securing another term in office, following Monday’s Annual Town Council meeting. Cllr Munday, proposed by the Halstead Residents Association, was unanimously voted in for his second term in two years.

This will be Cllr Munday’s fourth term as mayor, also carrying the title of Chair of Halstead Town Council. His priorities for the new term will remain unchanged, primarily to make Halstead a Dementia Friendly town.

Cllr Munday sits on a number of committees within the council, including Staff Advisory, Finance, Emergency Planning to name a few. He continues his duties as a Braintree District Councillor alongside those for Halstead Town.  He is also a trustee for the Empire Theatre.

Cllr Jim Bond continues as the Vice-Chair of Halstead Town Council.
