Essex County Council researchers, in partnership with Braintree District Council are looking to speak with working age residents who live in rural Braintree (outside of the towns of Halstead, Braintree and Witham) to understand:
- What it’s like living in rural areas of Braintree and what your community is like
- What good standards of living means to residents
- The challenges for achieving good standards of living, particularly as a result of long-term or more recent struggles and financial pressures.
- What’s working well for them, and what new opportunities or additional support might be needed to help them.
We wish to talk with a range of working age people (aged 18+ years), including those with and without dependent children, and those with a disability or long-term condition. We will use what is learnt to inform more detailed research conversations with individuals and some families with a view to improving our response to the area and local support.
As community leaders, we would like to ask for your help to support us with this research by:
- Forwarding the survey link and information though your networks and groups to individuals or families who may be interested in participating in this research. Please ask them to complete our survey https://consultations.essex.gov.uk/rci/rural-braintree-survey. where they will also be given an opportunity to register to participate in more detailed research.
- Letting us know if there are some existing groups or activities where ECC researchers will be able to come and have an informal chat with people such as at coffee mornings, mum’s or toddlers groups, faith, sport and social events etc, to gather some insight and signpost residents to the survey.
