Halstead RiverCare Clean Group

We are a group of volunteers who meet on the first Sunday of every month to clean and tidy in and around the River Colne.
Do you think that the Causeway is looking overgrown and needs more management? So do we, which is why we are seeking to organise a working group to cut back some of the excess growth & further improve the views of the river by modifying the lie of the flow, creating a meander on the northern side & a new channel on the southern side.
For which you would be very welcome to join us.
We have some waders and relevant equipment, but invite volunteers to wear wellington boots, gloves & bring suitable gardening equipment if you have it. Not all tasks will involve getting into the river & all volunteers, regardless of what you can offer, are welcome.
Please just turn up, along the Causeway at 10:00am for however long you can manage.
If working on the Causeway is not your thing but you would like to help with the appearance of the River Colne by collecting unwanted litter, then just to remind everybody that we meet up on the first Sunday of every month in Sainsburys car park at 10:00am. Again you would be very welcome.
