On Sunday 1st November 2026, we hope to fill Halstead Public Gardens with as many Guy Fawkes as possible. Some local groups have already signed up and are making a Guy to display in the park – all in various guises! However, to make an impressive display it would be fantastic if as many Halstead residents, groups and clubs as possible could take part and make a real spectacle!
All you need to do is make a Guy in the traditional way and bring him/her along before 9.30am and return at 3pm to take him/her home!
You can give your Guy a character, reading a book, mowing the grass, playing football and so on, and then place him/her in the park.
All Guys need to be labelled with the name of the creator(s) so that entrants can receive a certificate of entry. Once the Guys are ready, Halstead residents, which involves many excited children, will go around the gardens finding as many Guys as they can.
We really hope you will join us in making this a success.
