Courtauld Pavilion & Sports Ground
The Courtauld Pavilion is a community hall located on Colchester Road. Ideal for club meetings, small children’s parties and for commercial hire.
Facilities include:
- Main Hall approx. 10.5m x 6m (2.2m high) – with tables and chairs available, to seat approx. 40
- Kitchen Facilities, including microwave and fridge
- Women’s Toilets, Men’s Urinals and Accessible Toilet off the main hall, Men’s Toilet and shower facilities through the changing rooms
- Complimentary WIFI
- Car Park has 40 marked bays and 1 Disabled bay – cars using the car park must be parked in a designated bay and not block the entrance
- Rugby pitch
- Football pitch
- Training area(s)
- Outdoor gym
The sports ground can be hired with the pavilion, or separately. Dedicated football and rugby pitch, but also plenty of space for training, fitness classes, rounders etc.
The groundsman is onsite during much of the week if needed.

PAVILION HIRE (C0)
Access to, and use of, all facilities within the pavilion area, including kitchen, changing rooms and showers £12.75 per hour, for the first two hours.
Each additional hour: £14.50 per hour
FOOTBALL PITCH
C1A Large Pitch, suitable for adult matches and training. £46.00 per session
C1B Large Pitch, suitable for u16 matches and training. £27.00 per session
C1C Small Pitch, suitable for u11 matches and training. £24.00 per session
TRAINING AREA
C2A Training Pitch, suitable for u7 matches and small scale training. £18.50 per session
C2B Bespoke training area elsewhere on the field. £18.50 per session
WHOLE FIELD (C3)
Includes use of whole field and pavilion for 10 hours. £317.00 per hire
Each additional hour: £33.00 per hour
RUGBY PITCH (C4)
Maximum 10 hours. £103.00 per hire
A £100 REFUNDABLE DAMAGE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED FOR MAJORITY OF BOOKINGS
Regular Bookings Discount
For groups wishing to make a regular booking of the facilities the above categories will be applied subject to certain discounts. Any discount must be agreed in advance and approved in writing by the Town Clerk.
Bands/Disco
If your function includes the provision of a band or disco, please ensure that the time booked includes sufficient setting up and clearing up time. Overrunning your booking time may result in the loss of part/all of your deposit.
Private Bar Hire
If you hire a company to provide a private bar, that will be selling alcohol, you must notify the Council and provide a copy of their licence to sell alcohol. A copy of your Temporary Event Notice will also be required.

Courtauld Sports Ground, Colchester Road, Halstead CO9 2BY –
FROM BRAINTREE – Drive through Halstead and go up the High Street. Go straight over the first mini roundabout and turn right at the second mini roundabout, next to St Andrews church, towards Colchester. Entrance is on the left, immediately after the bus stop, as you leave the town.
FROM SUDBURY – Come down the hill into Halstead. Turn left at the mini roundabout, next to St Andrews church, towards Colchester. Entrance is on the left, immediately after the bus stop, as you leave the town.
FROM COLCHESTER – The road bends to the left as you go up the hill. Go straight over the mini roundabout and the entrance is on the right after the Halstead in Bloom display.
