As part of this programme, Cadent will be replacing parts of their network in and around Parsonage Street, Halstead, from 28th September 2026. This project will last approximately 10 weeks.
To minimise disruption to the community, they will be consulting with residents, businesses and stakeholders in the area whilst planning the project in collaboration with Essex Highways authority officers. Further key information on the project is listed below:
- Traffic management: In order to ensure the safety of their operatives onsite and the public using the roads they will need to make use of a number of traffic management measures. They will be closing a number of roads including, Holman Road, Martins Road, West Road, Neale Road, New Street, Mill Chase, Hedingham Road, and Box Mill Lane. Residents will be able to access their homes and a diversion route will be clearly signposted when each road is closed.
They will also be making use of temporary traffic lights on Winston Way, Churchill Avenue, Tylneys Road and Honey Wood Road.
- Buses: they understand this will interrupt buses moving through the area, they have been liaising with Essex County Council as a key stakeholder throughout.

- Drop-in session held locally on the 14th September at King George V Playing Fields between 11am and 2 pm for residents and businesses to attend and ask any questions
