Over the coming weeks we are having repairs made to the working parts of the clock in St Andrews church.
This will mean that, whilst the clock face itself might still be in view, there will be no chimes to mark the quarter hour.
This modernisation will mean that the time slips far less than it currently does, and will not need the weekly adjustment to bring it back into line.
Love the chimes or hate them, we can all agree that they are most annoying when they’re not accurate.
